Care and healthcare

IT that works on the night shift, not just office hours

Care runs 24 hours a day and so do the problems. A login that fails at 6am means medication records done on paper and re-keyed later, and an inspector who asks why. We support care homes, domiciliary providers and clinics across Yorkshire with the response times and the compliance knowledge the sector needs.

Care and healthcare: IT support from Systemwork

What care needs from IT

The things that keep registered managers awake

01

Shifts don't stop for IT

Agency staff, night staff and new starters all need to log in and work without a call to head office. Access has to be simple and safe at the same time.

02

Records are the evidence

Care plans, medication administration and incident logs are what an inspection turns on. They have to be available, accurate and provably protected.

03

The DSPT is a yearly exam

The NHS Data Security and Protection Toolkit has to be submitted every year to keep NHSmail and to work with the ICB. Most providers dread it.

04

Budgets are tight and fixed

Fees are set by commissioners. IT has to be a predictable monthly cost, not a surprise invoice when something breaks.

How we help

Support built around a care service, not an office

NHS DSPTCQCCyber EssentialsUK GDPR

DSPT done with you, every year

We manage these frameworks day in, day out. We map your evidence to each assertion, fix the gaps, and submit on time, so the Toolkit stops being a scramble every June.

Care software that stays up

Your care planning and medication systems monitored around the clock, with problems fixed before the handover at 7am.

Simple, safe access for every shift

Starters and agency staff working in minutes, leavers closed down the same day, and nobody sharing passwords because the alternative was too slow.

Inspection-ready evidence

Policies, access logs and backup reports ready to hand to CQC or a commissioner without a week of digging.

Connectivity for every site

Reliable broadband and Wi-Fi in buildings that were never designed for it, with a backup connection so a fault doesn't take the whole home offline.

One fixed price per user

Site visits, monitoring and security included. Easy to put in a budget and easy to explain to a board.

In practice

When a care provider came to us for their first NHS Data Security and Protection Toolkit submission, nobody on their team had been through one before. We ran the readiness assessment, hardened the devices and accounts to the standard the toolkit expects, put the right security products in place and wrote the evidence as we went. The submission went in on time, and the controls stayed in place afterwards rather than being a one-off tidy-up for the deadline.

How it works

From first call to fully supported in four steps

Once you accept our proposal we start onboarding straight away and handle the handover from your current provider, so your team barely notices the change.

  1. Step 1

    Free audit

We review how your business uses technology and where the risks and quick wins are. No cost, no obligation.

  2. Step 2

    Fixed-price proposal

A detailed, fixed-price proposal built around your needs, priced per user so it scales with you.

  3. Step 3

    Smooth onboarding

We collect what we need from your previous provider and get you set up with minimal disruption.

  4. Step 4

    Ongoing support

Round-the-clock support, proactive monitoring and a team that knows your business by name.

FAQ

Care and healthcare: your questions answered

Not covered here? Call 0113 898 0565 and ask us directly.

Can you do our NHS DSPT submission?

Yes. We manage the Toolkit for care providers already: mapping evidence to each assertion, fixing what's missing and submitting before the deadline. It becomes part of the monthly service rather than an annual panic.

Our care system is cloud-based. Do we still need IT support?

The software being in the cloud doesn't help when the laptop won't start, the Wi-Fi drops or a new carer can't log in. Support covers everything between the person and the software, and the security around it.

Do you cover multiple homes?

Yes. Multi-site providers are common in care and the service is priced per user, so it scales across homes without a separate contract for each.

What happens out of hours?

The service desk runs around the clock. A night manager who can't access records gets an engineer, not an answerphone.
